French marigolds are brightly coloured, easy to grow annuals.  They are dwarf plants  which are perfect for borders, as bedding plants, in containers and in the vegetable garden.  The fragrant flowers have edible petals with a mild citrus taste which makes them perfect for both sweet and savoury dishes, including salads, as a garnish and to flavour oils and vinegars.
